If your child has a Florida Step Up for Students scholarship, physical education is an approved use of those funds — including gym and fitness memberships and class passes for the student only, and sports lessons and fees.
That applies if you are on:

For 2026–27, a Step Up scholarship in Hillsborough County is worth thousands per student, per year. P.E. at Automatic Fitness uses only a small part of it — and leaves the rest for your other approved expenses.
| Grade level | Hillsborough County 2026–27 | What that means here |
|---|---|---|
| Kindergarten – Grade 3 | $8,429 per student | Covers a full school year of Homeschool P.E. many times over |
| Grades 4 – 8 | $7,837 per student | Covers Homeschool P.E. or Youth Strength for the year |
| Grades 9 – 12 | $7,644 per student | Covers Youth Strength & Conditioning for the year |
Amounts shown are the published Hillsborough County amounts for 2026–27 in the Automatic Fitness Step Up plan. Your student’s exact amount is confirmed in EMA (the Education Market Assistant) when you reserve funds.
Every program below is for the named student only, is coached, and includes the attendance record and P.E. documentation described on the next page.
Semester-billed. Daytime classes during school hours.
After-school small-group training.
School-year pass: $749. Ideal for leftover balances.
Important — please read: Step Up covers the student named on the scholarship only. Parents and siblings are welcome at Automatic Fitness on a regular membership — ask us and we will set the whole family up in one visit.
There are two ways to pay — direct pay through EMA, or pay and submit for reimbursement. Either way, we do the paperwork with you, not after you.
Pick Homeschool P.E. or Youth Strength & Conditioning and come in for a free trial week. No payment, no scholarship funds reserved yet. Meet the coach, see the class, make sure it fits your student.
Option A — Direct Pay in EMA (easiest): Find Automatic Fitness in EMA, reserve the funds for your chosen program, and Step Up pays us directly after the service is delivered.
Option B — Reimbursement: Pay us directly, and we hand you a Step Up-ready receipt packet the same day (see Section 6) to submit for reimbursement.
Your student trains on schedule. We log every attendance, track P.E. hours, and invoice or receipt exactly as Step Up requires — by student name and date — so there are no surprises at audit or renewal time.
Most reimbursement problems come from a receipt that is missing a name, a date, or the right description. Ours is built to be approved the first time. Your packet includes:
Keep the packet with your scholarship records. If Step Up ever asks for supporting documents, you already have them.
Book a free trial week this week. We will check your Step Up eligibility, place your student in the right class, and handle the paperwork with you.
